International Symposiums

The Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF) is a not-for-profit foundation established in 1987 by surgeons. MTF is committed to developing the science and technology of allografts and the biologic reconstruction of musculoskeletal tissues for the improved care of patients.

Many years ago, the Foundation initiated an extramural peer-reviewed research grant program to further our knowledge of transplantation and to offer new options in surgical repair. Since 1991, this research program has resulted in the hosting and underwriting of five international symposiums and over twenty-two million in grants. MTF has invited distinguished scientists from Europe and the U.S. to meet and discuss the latest techniques and scientific findings in both the academic and clinical allograft fields.

MTF hosted its 5th International Symposium on October 11-13, 2007 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. This meeting was an opportunity for approximately 140 participants from North America and Europe to review critical issues and advances in allograft transplantation, and to foster discussions of the fields involved. Topics covered at this symposium included cartilage, soft tissue, bone, and advances in the industry since the year 2000. This symposium was an invitation only meeting.

MTF is scheduling the 6th International Symposium for September 22-24, 2011 at the Drake Hotel Chicago, Illinois. The Symposium will be an invitation only meeting. The meeting is co-Chaired by J. Buckwalter, M.D. and M. Bolander, M.D.
