We are pleased to introduce FlexHD, an acellular dermal matrix that is derived from donated human allograft skin. MTF processes the skin to remove the epidermal and dermal cells and preserve the remaining components and extracellular matrix of the dermis. The resulting allograft serves as a framework to support cellular repopulation and vascularization at the surgical site.
FlexHD is unique when compared to other available dermal allografts. FlexHD provides excellent biomechanical strength, greater resistance to stretching and the added benefit of prehydration. FlexHD is packaged hydrated and does not require refrigeration for onsite storage, resulting in a tissue graft that is easily accessible and ready for use at all times. Thus, FlexHD helps to avoid costly “guess-work” prior to the case as surgeons may select the right sized piece at any time during the procedure, preventing any of the costs associated with wasted tissue or added OR time. This is not only an advantage for the hospital and surgeon, but also keeps with MTF's core mission to preserve and maximize the donor gift.
