Academic Members

MTF was initially established as a national organization of academic teaching institutions, with the goal of increasing availability of tissues, especially large grafts, through a centralized pooling of tissues. Currently we have 44 academic members, to whom we provide these benefits as part of membership:

• We work closely with member organizations to enhance professional education and donor development services.
• We provide up-to-date technical, regulatory and legislative information and help to maintain the highest standards of technical education.
• We assist members with hospital and staff development, and coordinate financial reimbursement of recovery costs.
• We freely make available a wide array of high-quality support services and materials to member (and non-member) organizations.
• We offer on-site consultation and in-services in areas including professional education, donor family services, management, staff recruitment and training.
• We develop and distribute public education and information materials as well as materials directed to specific professional audiences.
